Sporting CP is undergoing a deep transformation in its squad, with the departures of Pote and Bragança symbolizing the end of an era at the club. These two players were important figures in the team that won the national championship title in 2020/21, breaking a 19-year drought without league titles.
In just five years, the green and white club has carried out a massive overhaul of its roster. Currently, only three players who were part of that winning 2020/21 team remain, which demonstrates the magnitude of the restructuring carried out by the Lions' board.
Pote, who was considered one of Sporting's most emblematic players, is leaving the club after several seasons as one of the main technical references of the team. Bragança, who also had an important career at the Alvalade club, is now ending his cycle with the Lions.
This restructuring comes in a context where Sporting intends to build a new phase of the sporting project, consistently investing in new players and a renewal that allows maintaining competitiveness at the highest level of Portuguese football.
