The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the Gaza Strip today, becoming the first Israeli leader to enter the Palestinian enclave since Israeli forces regained control of the area in May 2024.

During the visit, Netanyahu stated that "there is still a lot of work to be done" in Gaza, signaling that Israeli military operations in the region are far from over.

The prime minister insisted that Israel will not withdraw from the Gaza Strip until the Islamic group Hamas is completely disarmed, maintaining the position he has defended since the beginning of the conflict.

The visit occurs in the context of a fragile ceasefire in the region, which has been marked by difficult negotiations between Israel and Hamas, with mediation from countries such as Qatar and Egypt.
