PCP accused the Government of promoting an attack on Public Social Security, stating that this intention has the support of parties such as Iniciativa Liberal (IL) and Chega.
The communist party also pointed to the Socialist Party (PS) a "complicity on multiple matters" against public Social Security, criticizing the PS's position on various issues related to the social protection system.
This accusation comes in the context of a broader debate about the future of the Social Security system in Portugal and the reform proposals advanced by the executive and the parties that support it in parliament.
PCP thus expressed its opposition to measures it considers harmful to the public Social Security system, positioning itself against the reforms proposed by the Government and the parties that support it.
