oglobo2 September 2026 at 16:22

The second Quaest survey for the 2026 Presidency, commissioned by newspaper O Globo and Globo, was released on Wednesday and shows changes in the political landscape after the start of electoral propaganda on TV and radio. In the first-round simulation, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) appears with 37% of voting intentions, followed by Flavío Bolsonaro (PL) with 30%. Writer Augusto Cury (Avante) surprises by reaching 10% and isolating himself in third place.

In the second-round scenario, Lula's advantage over his main adversary dropped significantly, going from 8 points to just 1 point over a two-month period. The president scores 42% against Flavío Bolsonaro's 41%, which configures a technical tie between the two candidates.

GLOBO columnists Merval Pereira, Fabio Graner, Miriam Leitão and Renato Meirelles evaluated the Quaest survey results, analyzing the changes in the electoral landscape and the unexpected growth of Augusto Cury.
