The National Department of Youth Pastoral (DNPJ) promotes, between September 25 and 27, a new edition of Formação à Vista – Formation jornadas in Youth Pastoral, under the theme "Peripheries and Dreams – Listening to realities, opening paths". The initiative is promoted by the body of the Portuguese Bishops' Conference responsible for youth pastoral care and aims to challenge the Church to look at young people from their realities, questions, concerns and dreams, seeking renewed forms of accompaniment and evangelization.
The proposal also involves an approach to the "peripheries", understood as the contexts and spaces where young people are found who do not always reach the usual structures and environments of the Church. The organization advocates the need to "give space to other voices" and find new pastoral languages and pathways.
Over the three days, the formation will be organized around five fundamental areas: Youth Pastoral, Realities and Peripheries, Listening, Communication and Leadership. Among the objectives are deepening the current challenges of youth evangelization, improving listening capacity and developing forms of communication capable of creating bridges between the Church and new generations.
The Formação à Vista 2026 is directed especially at animators, pastoral agents and all those who work directly with young people, presenting itself as a space for formation, encounter and reflection. Registrations opened on September 1 and can be made through the website of the National Department of Youth Pastoral.
