King Felipe VI called this Wednesday the president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, on the occasion of Ceuta Day. According to sources from the Palace of Zarzuela, the head of State wanted to contact Vivas "especially due to the situation that the autonomous city is suffering."
During the call, the monarch conveyed "the support of all of Spain" to Ceuta, thus expressing the solidarity of the Spanish State with the autonomous city on its festive day.
The King also appealed to unity and coexistence, at a moment described as particularly difficult for Ceuta. This communication comes in a context of tension in the autonomous city, although the article does not detail the specific reasons for the "situation" mentioned.
