In elections, the sentiment about the economy is more important than the indicators

The Quaest survey reveals that the perception of the economy has worsened among respondents, which is difficult to explain when analyzing objective economic indicators. There was deflation in August, however the population's feeling is different from these numbers.

According to the survey, 67% of respondents stated that food became more expensive in the last month. This happens because prices rose a lot in the recent past, and when they fall relatively, that does not necessarily mean more room in family budgets.

Indebtedness is another factor that consumes people's budgets, contributing to the feeling of financial strain. Even with inflation falling, especially food inflation, what people feel does not match the indicators.

The article concludes that economic sentiment is more important than the numbers themselves and will be what defines the vote in the election.
