A Quaest poll released on Wednesday revealed that the proposals presented by candidates are the most important element for Brazilian voters when deciding their presidential vote, with 45% of responses. In second place is the candidate's ideology, with 17%, followed by performance in TV debates, with 14%.
Among other factors considered by voters are the opinion of friends, family and colleagues, with 6%, and radio and TV advertisements, with just 3%. Support from other politicians was cited by 2% of those interviewed, while support from celebrities appeared with 1%. Other factors represented 3% and 9% of those interviewed said they did not know or did not answer.
The survey was commissioned by Globo and Editora Globo. Quaest heard from 2,004 people between August 30 and September 1. The margin of error of two percentage points, plus or minus, and the confidence level of the survey were also reported.
