The Quaest poll released on Wednesday shows Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) with an advantage over Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in the first round of the 2026 presidential election. The poll was conducted after the start of political advertising on radio and television, commissioned by the newspaper O GLOBO and TV Globo.
In the first round, Lula appears with 37% of voting intentions, against 30% for Bolsonaro. In the second round, the race becomes tight, with Lula scoring 42% and Bolsonaro 41%, constituting a technical tie.
Compared to the previous poll, released on August 14, the distance between the candidates decreased significantly, dropping from three points to just one point. The poll also shows that the majority of voters believe that the investigations involving Lula and Bolsonaro harm both candidates.
