The City Hall of Teresina sent a veto on the increase in parliamentary budget amendments for city council members for the 2027 budget. The decision of the municipal Executive branch was communicated to the Municipal Chamber, which will have the prerogative to analyze the veto and decide whether to uphold it or overturn it.
The estimated financial impact from approving the increase in budget amendments is R$ 21 million in the public coffers of the capital of Piauí. The amount represents a significant increase in the resources that would be allocated by parliamentarians through their amendments to the municipal budget.
The veto will now be reviewed by the city council members, who have the power to overturn the decision of the municipal Executive branch if they deem it necessary. The legislative process follows the procedural rules of the Teresina Chamber for this type of budgetary matter.
