A boy of about 16 years old suffered serious injuries following the crash of the scooter he was riding, this afternoon, in the parish of Oliveirinha, in the municipality of Aveiro. The alert for the accident was given at around 14:44.
After being stabilized at the scene, the victim was transported by ambulance to the pediatric emergency department in Coimbra, with medical escort. The teenager's condition is a cause for concern due to injuries sustained to the head.
Eleven operatives with four vehicles were deployed to rescue the victim, involving the Velhos Firefighters, INEM and PSP, the latter taking charge of the incident.
