oRegiões2 September 2026 at 15:00

Registrations are now open for the 2026/2027 edition of the Youth Parliament Programme, running from September 1 to October 1, 2026. The central theme approved by the Committee on Education and Science, based on the interests expressed by the young participants in the previous edition, is "Housing: young people with a PLACE, territories with a FUTURE!".

The programme is aimed at students from the 2nd and 3rd cycles of basic education and secondary education, inviting public, private, and cooperative educational establishments to participate. Interested schools must integrate the initiative into their 2026/2027 Annual Activity Plan and formalize registration through the electronic form available on the official Youth Parliament website.

Developed since 1995 by the Assembly of the Republic in partnership with IPDJ and the Ministry of Education, the Youth Parliament aims to promote active citizenship and democratic participation, encouraging reflection, the building of consensus, and the presentation of solutions on vital issues for society. Throughout the entire school year, schools have the support of the Assembly of the Republic, through the Youth Parliament Team, as well as the partner entities.

The process culminates with the National Sessions held at São Bento Palace, which are prepared at each school and district throughout the school year. The official programme website provides all detailed information, including the complete calendar of activities, registration form, and the rules of procedure that establish the operating regulations.
