The first Quaest poll conducted after the start of free electoral advertising on radio and television, commissioned by the newspaper O GLOBO and TV Globo, shows President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in a technical tie in the second-round simulation against Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL). The PT candidate scores 42% of voting intentions, against 41% of his opponent.
Compared to the previous poll, released on August 14, the difference between the candidates decreased from three points to one. When compared to the July 26 survey, the petist candidate's advantage over the PL representative dropped from eight points to one.
The start of free electoral time on TV and radio, in addition to insertions scattered throughout programming, are pointed out as factors that influenced the change in the numbers. The candidates also had other moments of exposure during the period analyzed by the poll.
