President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) are technically tied in a runoff, according to the Quaest poll commissioned by newspaper O GLOBO and Globo. Numerically, the PT candidate is leading with 42% of voting intentions, against 41% for his main opponent, but this difference is within the margin of error of the survey.
In the first round, Lula appears with 37% of voting intentions, while Bolsonaro follows with 30%. The survey also indicates that writer Augusto Cury, from Avante, showed growth and surpassed the other candidates, occupying the third position in the tested scenario.
This is the first survey conducted after the start of electoral propaganda on TV and radio, as well as the interviews conducted by TV Globo, moments considered decisive in the presidential campaign.
The percentages refer to the scenario that includes Pablo Marçal, sentenced to ineligibility for eight years due to improper use of communication media during the previous election.
