The new Quaest poll shows that disapproval of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's (PT) government remained stable. According to the institute, 48% disapprove of the leftist's management, while 45% approve. Additionally, 7% don't know or didn't respond. The survey released on Wednesday was commissioned by TV Globo and the newspaper O GLOBO.
In the last month, the president suffered setbacks after the Federal Police opened three investigations to examine suspicions against Fábio Luis, Lula's son. The investigations are examining influence peddling in Health, favoritism at Dataprev, and illicit business dealings in the government.
The new Quaest data indicate that the PF investigations, so far, have not had an effect on Lula's overall approval ratings. The disapproval rate remained at the same level as the previous survey.
According to the data, however, Lula's disapproval rose six points among the youngest, aged 16 to 24: it went from 47% to 53% since the previous survey. Among independents, the numbers also showed variation.
