TRE-RJ rejects Val Ceasa's candidacy registration to Alerj due to signs of link with criminal organization

The Regional Electoral Court of Rio de Janeiro rejected, unanimously, the candidacy registration of state deputy Val Ceasa, from PRD, to the Rio de Janeiro State Legislative Assembly. The decision was made in Tuesday's session.

The objection was presented by the Regional Electoral Prosecutor's Office, which was based on investigations that point to possible links of the parliamentarian with members of the Terceiro Comando Puro, a criminal organization.

The magistrates considered that the registration request was filed by the party after the investigations were unsealed. For this reason, the justices determined the sending of information to the Regional Electoral Prosecutor's Office.
