Chess brought together young people and international adults in Mangualde, in an initiative that featured the participation of players from various backgrounds. The event was organized by the chess section of the Casa do Povo of Mangualde, which promoted two distinct competitions to reach different audiences.
The Youth Festival attracted 20 young participants, providing a dedicated space for the younger ones to learn and compete in this sport. In parallel, the International Open took place, which recorded a more expressive participation with 74 players in competition.
The holding of these competitions in Mangualde highlights the effort of the local institution to promote chess in the region, creating opportunities for both young people and adult players from different countries to participate in competition.
