Referees no longer have public evaluation

Record2 September 2026 at 14:09

The Arbitration Council decided to end the public disclosure of referee evaluations and to close the television programs dedicated to analyzing the performance of referees.

This decision marks a significant change in how arbitration is communicated publicly, eliminating the programs that weekly analyzed the referee's performances in sports broadcasts.

The measure comes at a time of tension between referees and some structures of Portuguese football, which have been publicly criticizing the judges' work.

With this decision, referee evaluations are no longer accessible to the public, becoming internal information of the Arbitration Council.
