The National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) suspended on Wednesday (2) the manufacturing of cleaning products at the Unilever facility in Vinhedo, in the state of São Paulo, as a preventive measure. The action was carried out jointly with the São Paulo State Health Surveillance Center and the Vinhedo Municipal Health Surveillance Department.
The purpose of the suspension is to ensure that future batches produced by the company do not pose a risk to public health. During an inspection of the site, failures were identified in the sanitary requirements required for production.
Among the inconsistencies found are failures in the controls carried out during manufacturing and prior to product release, deficiencies in the monitoring of water used in the production process, and weaknesses in the investigation and correction of identified problems.
