Rafael Barbas, second best young rider of the last Volta a Portugal em Bicicleta, was signed by the Spanish team Caja Rural, which he will represent for the next two seasons. The cyclist, from Gonçalo in the district of Guarda, is 22 years old and will join Iúri Leitão at the ProTeam-level formation. Rafael Barbas completed his entire under-23 stage with the Sporting development team and has now made the leap to a professional Spanish team.
