Caixa Geral de Depósitos approved the move of its registered office to Parque das Nações, in Lisbon, at Avenida Dom João II, No. 1, with effects from September 1. The institution's Board of Directors approved the change, although the registration with the Commercial Registry was still pending at the time of the market communication.
The process of searching for new premises for the central services began in 2020, with the aim of accommodating approximately 2,500 workers. The acquisition of the WellBe building, where the new headquarters will be located, was formalized in February 2024, with the physical transfer expected to be completed by the end of September.
The move ends a permanence of about three decades in the former building on Avenida João XXI, which will continue to house some departments of Caixa, including the institution's social services. The former headquarters building, now designated Campus XXI, also started housing several ministries and other Public Administration bodies, as well as Culturgest.
Once the commercial registration is completed, the new address may start appearing on the legal identification found on letters and documents sent by the institution to customers, as determined by the Commercial Companies Code. Still on September 2, the official CGD mailing contacts page continued to show the old address on Avenida João XXI.
