Dynamo Moscow decided to cancel the negotiations for the forwards Gonzalo Plata, from Flamengo, and Matheus Martins, from Botafogo. Hours after the controversy, the Russian club issued an official statement explaining the reason for the decision.
In the statement, Dynamo stated that it took into consideration the long-term interests of the club and that the deal was called off due to "a series of reasons." According to the agreement established between the Brazilian clubs and Dynamo, the two players will return to Brazil to report back to their respective teams.
Plata and Matheus Martins had arrived in Russia over the weekend. Dynamo even published images of the two landing at the airport, complete with the club's scarf and themed receptions. After the players' arrival, Dynamo ended up "returning" the players to Brazil.
