The Government admitted the existence of problems with the Volta system, responsible for packaging collection in Portugal, but guaranteed that solutions are being found for them. The confession comes at a time when the system is still taking its first steps.
The Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) presented a balance sheet of the first months of operation of Volta. The data reveal that 242.6 million packages have already been delivered through the new collection system.
In terms of performance, the system currently stands at 38%, a value very close to the 39% target that had been set for this year. This data is interpreted as positive by the authorities, given that Volta is still in an initial phase of implementation.
