MUSCARIUM will hold this year its 12th and final edition in the format that made it a reference in Sintra's cultural programming. The festival runs from September 4 to 20, organized by teatromosca, and marks the end of a phase that began in 2014. In 2027, the project will return with a reformulated mission, dedicating itself exclusively to contemporary dramaturgy for young audiences.
The farewell edition focuses on artistic residencies and collaborative creation. Highlights include partnerships with Colectivo Glovo, an inclusive artistic creation laboratory developed with Festival Clarão, and various initiatives promoted by koletivo Unidigrazz. The program also includes creative laboratories run by Quorum Ballet, Diogo Andrade and Teatro À Faca.
The opening is scheduled for September 4, at 9:00 PM, at AMAS – Auditório Municipal António Silva, with the opening of a free-entry photography exhibition, followed by the screening of the film "Entroncamento" by Pedro Cabeleira. Over more than two weeks, the festival presents concerts, exhibitions, film screenings and performances in various spaces throughout the municipality of Sintra.
The full program is available online, where you can find all the initiatives, purchase tickets and sign up for free activities.
