Madeira is establishing itself as an emerging hub in the development and application of Artificial Intelligence, with initiatives emerging in the public sector, schools and businesses. This trend is occurring at a time when AI is taking on an increasingly significant presence in the global economy and research.

The assessment was shared by Eduardo Fermé, professor at the University of Madeira and president of the 25th Portuguese Conference on Artificial Intelligence, which runs until Friday in Funchal. The event brings together specialists and researchers in the field, contributing to the debate and promotion of this technology in the region.

According to the professor, there is already a Regional Artificial Intelligence Strategy in place, which demonstrates the region's institutional commitment to the promotion and integration of this technology across different sectors of activity.
