Hospital Professor Doutor Fernando Fonseca, known as Amadora-Sintra, recorded on Wednesday morning a waiting time of 10 hours and 52 minutes for the first medical observation of patients classified as urgent, according to data from the National Health Service portal. This information was consulted at 08:45 in the morning.
Patients with a yellow bracelet, assigned in triage to cases considered urgent, faced waits of almost 11 hours to be seen in the general emergency department of this hospital.
The situation of high pressure extended to other hospital units in the Lisbon region. At Hospital Garcia de Orta, urgent patients waited six hours and 39 minutes for their first medical observation, while at Hospital de Santa Maria, in Lisbon, the waiting time was seven hours and five minutes.
Hospital Nossa Senhora do Rosário, in Barreiro, also presented significant waiting times, with urgent patients waiting five hours and 57 minutes to be seen.
