The results of the 1st phase of the 2026 National Competition for Access to Higher Education confirm the position of the Faculty of Law at the University of Coimbra among the most sought-after and demanding law schools in the country. The Law Degree filled all 350 available places, with an entry score of 167.0 points, and was indicated as the first choice by 235 candidates. The top 10 placed students come from eight different districts, demonstrating the national scope of the demand for legal education in Coimbra.
The top entry scores range between 19.00 and 19.75 points, with the six best placed students entering with averages of 19.75, 19.55, 19.35, 19.35, 19.00, and 19.00 points. In several positions on the list of placed students, the grade recorded at FDUC is the highest in the country, including positions 26, 100, 110, 150, and 354, which means that at those positions, no other institution placed a student with a higher average.
In the Public Administration Degree, FDUC recorded the highest entry score in the country among courses in the field, with 156.8 points, 10.5 points more than in the previous academic year. The new students will be welcomed at the New Students Welcome Week, which runs from September 7 to 11, with a program that includes the welcome session, guided tours, and a visit to the Palace of Justice of Coimbra.
