Two women died and a man was left in critical condition after a car fell into the sea while boarding a ferry at the port of Algeciras, in the province of Cádiz, in southern Spain. The accident occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday (2), when the vehicle, which was carrying four people and was heading to Tangier, in Morocco, drove toward the water.
According to initial information, the driver, a man in his 50s, apparently became disoriented due to the fog and went directly toward the ramp that connected the ship to the dock. The car, loaded with luggage, sank rapidly.
The driver managed to swim to the shore and received medical attention at the scene. The other man, who was trapped by his seatbelt in the passenger seat, managed to free himself, but was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
