RAR Açúcar is a historic brand created in Porto in 1962, which went on to transform the sugar industry in Portugal. The brand achieved this feat by uniting nine refineries from the North of the country into a single operation.

Since its founding, the company has evolved significantly. It went from artisanal operations to a modern industrial refinery located in the city of Porto, keeping pace with the sector's modernization.

Over the decades, RAR Açúcar expanded beyond Portuguese borders, becoming an international reference in the sugar market. This international expansion represents an important milestone in the brand's trajectory.

Portugal summons Russian ambassador after hybrid attacks in Germany
