dnoticias.pt2 September 2026 at 09:44

China avoided today confirming the possibility of a summit between Chinese President Xi Jinping, US President Donald Trump, and Russian President Vladimir Putin, during the APEC leaders' meeting in November, in Shenzhen. The spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guo Jiakun, was questioned about a possible trilateral meeting and responded that he had no information to provide on the matter.

Guo Jiakun also indicated that China, as the host of the APEC leaders' meeting, would play a central role in organizing the event. The APEC summit is scheduled for November in the city of Shenzhen, China.

The possibility of a meeting between the three world leaders has been internationally speculated upon, given the current geopolitical context and tensions between the major powers. However, Chinese authorities preferred not to officially confirm or deny the holding of such a trilateral meeting.
