Hospital Amadora-Sintra is recording waiting times of almost 11 hours for patients classified as urgent. This situation represents a significant delay compared to the recommended times by the clinical triage system in effect.
According to the triage system standards, very urgent situations should be attended to within 10 minutes of triage. Urgent cases should not wait more than 60 minutes to receive assistance.
The hospital is facing high demand that has overloaded the emergency services. The difference between current waiting times and those recommended by the protocol is considerable, far exceeding the established parameters for adequate patient response.
