The Industry and Tourism Minister, Jordi Hereu, visited on Wednesday in Castellón the facilities of the ceramic manufacturers association, Ascer. This visit allowed the minister to closely learn about the Spanish ceramic sector and its current challenges.
After meeting with the association's leaders, headed by its president, Ismael García Peris, Hereu went to the Porcelanosa facilities to personally learn about the manufacturing process of these ceramic products.
During his statements to the media, the minister announced that he will call for "resources" from Europe to address the overcosts derived from emissions in the ceramic sector. This claim arises in a context of industrial concern over the costs associated with environmental compliance.
Hereu's visit to Castellón, Spain's main ceramic hub, reflects the importance of the sector for the Spanish economy and the need for European support to maintain the industry's competitiveness in the face of energy and environmental challenges.
