The village of Odeleite, in the municipality of Castro Marim, celebrates between September 4th and 6th the Festivities in Honor of Nossa Senhora da Visitação, its patron saint. The three-day event brings together music, popular traditions, gastronomy and religious manifestations, with Odeleite being the largest parish in the municipality. The procession in honor of the patron saint, scheduled for Sunday, is one of the highlights of the program.
On Friday, the 4th, the festivities begin at 6:00 PM with the opening of the fair, where regional products from the municipality will be featured. The entertainment continues with a dance by Filipe Romão, a performance by the Rancho Folclórico do Azinhal at 9:30 PM and DJ Nuno Silva with the Tour Anos 80 starting at 10:30 PM.
On Saturday, the 5th, the second edition of the motorbike ride takes place, departing from Odeleite at 9:00 AM. During the afternoon and evening, the fair opens its doors again, with a dance by Acordeanima and the main show of the night featuring Portuguese artist Joana D'Arc.
On Sunday, the 6th, is dedicated to the most solemn moment of the festivities, with the procession in honor of Nossa Senhora da Visitação at 7:00 PM. At the same time, the fair and dance with Luís Godinho take place, and the program concludes with the performance of the group As Vozes at 10:30 PM. The festivities are organized by the Junta de Freguesia de Odeleite, in partnership with the Municipality of Castro Marim, the Parish of Odeleite and the Social Association of the Parish of Odeleite.
