Generative artificial intelligence is used by 85% of children and young people, according to a report that analyzes the use of this technology by these age groups. The study reveals that the main purpose of using these tools is for completing schoolwork.
The report also identifies a significant gap between what children and young people think they know about digital skills and the actual knowledge they possess. There is a discrepancy between the confidence expressed in these matters and the real understanding of how the algorithms that underpin the technologies they use daily actually work.
The study calls for the need to improve the digital literacy of young people, ensuring they understand more deeply the technological tools they interact with in their daily lives, both in the educational context and outside it.
