'They knew he had a heart condition': mother accuses police after son's death in England

oglobo2 September 2026 at 08:01

Shannon Gurr accuses the police of having contributed to her son's death after officers adopted behavior she considers "excessive" and unnecessary. The student, who was autistic and had a heart condition, panicked and fled from home after police knocked on the door. He was found dead approximately an hour later. The suspicion is that he suffered cardiac arrest or a heart attack.

Shannon Gurr made the accusations after having access to the police officers' body camera footage, recorded during the incident on June 21. According to her, the police were aware of her son's health problems, as a medical record had been filed in his name following a car accident that occurred months earlier, when he was diagnosed with a heart condition.
