Portugal has the 11th highest employment rate among 29 European countries, reaching 79.6%. This figure places the country in a favorable position regarding the labor market.
However, Portugal drops to 24th place when evaluating business digitalization. The weak adoption of technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing and e-commerce significantly contributes to this lower position.
This digital gap ultimately penalizes Portugal in the overall ranking, where the country occupies only 17th place. The discrepancy between the strong employment performance and the weak digitalization highlights an important challenge for Portuguese competitiveness.
