Fachin evaluates next steps for analysis of PF report dealing with relationship between Vorcaro and Moraes

The president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Edson Fachin, will be responsible for defining the next steps in the analysis of the Federal Police (PF) report dealing with messages exchanged between Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, and Justice Alexandre de Moraes. The case gained relevance amid a crisis at the Court.

The case rapporteur, Justice André Mendonça, is expected to release the report to the STF presidency next week. Upon lifting the secrecy from the case, Mendonça stated that, regardless of the position of the Attorney General's Office (PGR), the "inevitable path" leads to the Full Court, which according to him is the "sovereign instance to analyze, in a technical and strictly legal manner, the new elements brought" by the Federal Police.

Mendonça determined that the deliberation should occur in a "public and transparent" manner, in an in-person session, on a date to be set by Fachin. The rapporteur highlighted the need for strictly legal technical analysis of the new elements presented by the investigation.

There is still no set date for when the deliberation session will take place. The final word on forwarding the case to the Full Court rests with Fachin, who will establish the next procedures for the case involving messages between Vorcaro and Moraes.
