The Parliament of Venezuela approved an oil agreement with the United States. This agreement represents bilateral cooperation in the energy sector between the two countries.
Under the agreement, the United States is authorized to explore 17 oil fields in Venezuela. The exploration area covers territories with significant crude oil reserves.
The estimated production potential for these fields is 65 billion barrels of oil. This volume represents one of the largest oil reserves assigned to a foreign exploration agreement in the South American country.
The parliamentary approval marks a significant step in the energy relationship between Caracas and Washington, opening the way for substantial investments in the Venezuelan oil industry.
