Almost a year after a new athletic track for Funchal was announced, the deadlines for the completion of the project planned for the facilities of Garrison Regiment number three remain unknown. The project, which should transform the military facilities into a sports facility, remains without any calendar definition.
The independent councilors Luís Filipe Santos and Jorge Afonso Freitas will bring the matter to the City Council meeting, seeking to know whether the protocol involving the Funchal city council, the Regional Government and the Portuguese Army was actually signed. The two councilors want clarification on the current state of the situation.
The project had been announced as a partnership between three entities: the Funchal City Council, the Regional Government of Madeira and the Portuguese Army. Until now, no further details have been revealed about the progress or stagnation of the protocol.
