Joshua Wong, a 29-year-old pro-democracy activist from Hong Kong, pleaded guilty to conspiracy with foreign powers during a trial held under the city's national security law.
The trial takes place within the framework of charges related to national security, after the implementation of the national security law in Hong Kong in 2020.
By pleading guilty, Wong now faces the possibility of receiving a life sentence, in addition to the sentence he is already serving.
Wong's case is part of a series of legal proceedings against pro-democracy activists in Hong Kong since the implementation of the controversial national security law.
