William Siri has two car tires slashed on campaign trip and criticizes the Castro government

Candidate for governor of Rio William Siri (Psol) had his campaign trip interrupted in the Itaperuna region, in Northern Fluminense, after two tires of his car were slashed during the journey along the RJ-186 highway. The road connects the Northwest Fluminense region to the Zona da Mata in Minas Gerais and, according to the Psol candidate, was in precarious conditions.

In a video posted on social media on Monday, Siri heavily criticized the government of Cláudio Castro (PL), attributing to it the responsibility for what he classified as "deterioration" of the road. The candidate stated that he was indignant about the situation and reported that he was on his way to a campaign event in Itaperuna that ultimately was not attended.

The Psol candidate said that he and his team waited more than an hour for help after the incident. In the recording, he described the highway as "completely deteriorated" and compared the road to Swiss cheese, highlighting that the situation poses a risk to drivers.

Siri also mentioned the fear he felt during the occurrence, citing the lack of lighting on the road. When talking to residents of the region, the candidate said he heard reports that similar situations are frequent on the road, evidencing a recurring problem for those who travel the RJ-186.
