Sporting Clube de Portugal officially bid farewell to Pedro Gonçalves through a post on social media, describing him as someone who "are part of our history". The Portuguese midfielder leaves the club after a permanent transfer to Fiorentina, an Italian Serie A team.
Pedro Gonçalves, 26, had been at Sporting since 2020, having arrived from Wolverhampton. Throughout his time with the Lions, the player won two national championship titles, in 2020/21 and 2023/24, as well as a League Cup.
The lion club expressed gratitude to the player, acknowledging his sporting contribution and the moments shared during the period he represented the green and white colors. The transfer to Fiorentina marks a new stage in the midfielder's career, as he moves from Portuguese football to the Italian league.
