The Canadian forward Jonathan David will play for Atlético de Madrid during the next season, after arriving at the Spanish club on loan from Juventus. This transfer marks the 24-year-old player's first experience in Spanish football.

David had been representing Juventus since 2023, having arrived at the Italian club from Lille, where he stood out as one of the most productive forwards in the French Ligue 1. However, his spell in Serie A did not go as expected, with the player having difficulties establishing himself in the starting eleven.

A Canadian international, David has represented his country on numerous occasions and is considered one of the main figures in Canadian football. His arrival at Atlético de Madrid represents an opportunity for the player to relaunch his career in one of the major European leagues.

With this temporary loan, Juventus manages to free up space in their squad and on their high wage bill, while allowing David to accumulate playing minutes and competitive minutes at a club with top aspirations in Spain.

At Barradão, Vasco tries to repeat 2009 feat against Vitória to reach Copa do Brasil semifinal; relive it

Vasco seeks its third consecutive Copa do Brasil semifinal by facing Vitória this Wednesday at Barradão, in Salvador. After winning the first leg 1-0 at São Januário, the Cruz-Maltino only needs a draw to advance, while a one-goal loss takes the decision to penalties. Vasco's record at Barradão is unfavorable — only six wins in 29 games against Vitória at the Bahian stadium — but the team tries to draw inspiration from the classification achieved at the same stage in 2009, when it managed to hold the opponent away from home. The teams have faced each other four times in the Copa do Brasil, with Vitória advancing in three of them.
