Farmers criticize Government "million announcements" and point out difficulties

Farmers are criticizing the millions announced by the Government, considering that the measures do not match the reality on the ground. Sector associations have been pointing out growing difficulties in Portuguese agricultural activity.

According to the data presented, payments to farmers and fishermen reached 809 million euros by August. This value represents significant growth compared to the same period last year.

The increase verified is 39% when compared to the same period in 2025. This growth in payments contrasts with sector criticism, which continues to demand more support and better conditions for the exercise of agricultural and fishing activity.
