The Portuguese automobile market recorded significant growth in the first eight months of the year. From January to August 2026, 197,632 new vehicles were put into circulation, representing an increase of 10.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.

This information was announced by an automobile sector association in a statement. The double-digit growth demonstrates a positive trend in the new vehicle market in Portugal.

Comparing with the same period of the previous year allows for assessing the sector's actual evolution. The percentage increase exceeding 10% indicates a sustained recovery or expansion of new car sales in the country.
