The National Authority for Medicines (Infarmed) determined the withdrawal from the market of a batch of the medication Salofalk, used in the treatment of intestinal inflammations. The decision comes following quality problems identified in the product.
The affected batch was voluntarily recalled by the company responsible for distributing the medication in Portugal. The measure aims to protect the safety of patients using this medication.
Patients currently undergoing treatment with Salofalk should not stop the medication without first consulting their doctor. Sudden interruption may pose health risks to the patient.
Infarmed recommends that patients who have this batch at home contact their doctor or pharmacist to clarify how they should proceed.
