United States forces struck on Tuesday targets of Iran's Revolutionary Guard in the Strait of Hormuz. The action was a response to recent attempted attacks on commercial vessels and American troops deployed in the region, the US Central Command reported.
This was the second time this week that Washington struck Iranian positions. The interval between the two attacks marks the end of a month without exchanges of fire between the two countries.
The attacks occurred after "recent attempts at aggression by the Revolutionary Guard against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and against American military personnel," stated US Central Command in a post on social media platform X.
