Daniel Sousa is now the strongest name to replace João Gião as head coach of Nacional. President Rui Alves intends to resolve this issue quickly so that the new coach begins preparing Saturday's game, at Alvalade, against Sporting.
According to Record, the club's first option would have been Custódio Castro, but negotiations did not progress in order to secure the coach's signing.
Given the impossibility of hiring Custódio Castro, the president of Nacional turned to another choice and Daniel Sousa emerged as the strongest possibility to take charge of the team's coaching.
