The Torreense, a II Liga Portuguese club, made official the signing of a midfielder coming from Sporting de Braga. The player in question is João Marques, who thus reinforces the Portuguese third-tier professional club for the sporting season in question.
The agreement between the two clubs includes a purchase option set at 3.5 million euros. This means that Torreense may, subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions, definitively acquire the player's sporting rights from Sporting de Braga at the end of the season or during the contract period.
João Marques arrives at Torreense as a bet by the II Liga club to strengthen their midfield. The operation allows the young player to have more playing time and competitive experience, something that would be more difficult at Sporting de Braga, a I Liga Portuguese club.
This transfer fits within the usual strategy of Portuguese big clubs of loaning young prospects to lower division clubs, where they can accumulate experience and development before returning to the main squads.
