Germany closed a Russian consulate in Berlin after attributing responsibility for a drone incident at Leipzig airport to Moscow. The decision was made as part of a coordinated response with European and Atlantic partners.
The German chancellor had previously announced that investigations into the incident at Leipzig airport would be concluded shortly and that Berlin would react in a coordinated manner with the European Union and NATO.
This measure comes as part of a set of diplomatic actions aimed at pressuring Russia following the incident involving drones on German territory.
